Privacy

Flowr is made by Heart Mode LLC (“we”). Flowr is built so your words stay yours: your audio, transcripts, notes and files are processed and stored on your Mac and are never sent to us. This page explains the small amount of information we do handle to sell and license the app.

What stays on your Mac

• Recordings, dictation, meeting transcripts, notes, snippets and files you drop into Flowr.
• Speech recognition and speaker separation run locally. No audio or text is uploaded for processing.
• Your settings and history, in your user folder. You can delete them at any time.

What we receive

• Free trial: the email address you give us, so we can send your download and a few emails during your trial. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
• Purchase: your email address and payment status from Stripe, our payment processor. We never see your card details.
• License: a hashed (one-way scrambled) copy of your license key, the date it was activated and last checked, and a hashed identifier for your Mac so a license can be tied to one Mac. The Mac identifier is a SHA-256 hash of its hardware ID. We cannot reverse it to learn anything about your Mac.
• Free trial: the same hashed Mac identifier plus the trial’s start and end dates, so a trial can’t be restarted by reinstalling.
• Abuse prevention: license and trial requests are rate-limited using a daily, one-way hashed value derived from your IP address. We don’t store IP addresses themselves.
• Downloads: when the app is downloaded we record the version number and time, nothing about you.

Network requests the app makes

• License activation and a periodic license check (at least once every 30 days) to our server.
• A one-time download of the speech models from Flowr’s download server (downloads.tryflowr.com) on first launch.
• Checks for app updates from downloads.tryflowr.com. No system information is sent with them.
• Only if you turn it on: the optional webhook sends selected transcripts to the web address you choose. It never goes to us.

Analytics and ads

Your audio and transcripts never leave your Mac, and no analytics ever include them.

• Website: we use PostHog to count visits and see how people move from our ads to a trial and a purchase, and the Meta pixel to measure our ads on Facebook and Instagram. When you sign up or buy, we also tell Meta directly (with your email address hashed, one-way scrambled) so the ad that brought you can be counted. PostHog also records how you move through our pages (scrolling, clicks, which sections you read) so we can see where the site is confusing; anything you type into a form is hidden from these recordings. In the EU, UK and Switzerland none of this uses cookies or reaches Meta unless you choose Accept; if you decline, we only count visits without cookies.
• Ad tags: if you arrive from one of our ads or links, your browser remembers that link’s campaign tags for up to 90 days, and we record them with your trial signup or purchase.
• App: Flowr sends a few anonymous usage events to PostHog: that it was opened, finished downloading its speech engine, finished setup, and used dictation or meetings for the first time, plus the app version. If you downloaded Flowr from your trial email, these are linked to your signup so we can see where people get stuck. You can turn this off in Settings.
• Checkout happens on Stripe’s own page, under Stripe’s privacy policy.

Services we use

• Stripe (payments), Supabase (license database), Vercel (website and license server), Cloudflare (domain, downloads and email forwarding), Resend (download, trial and license emails), PostHog (product analytics), Meta (ad measurement).

How long we keep it

License and purchase records are kept while your license is valid and as long as required for tax and accounting. Trial records are kept so trials can’t be repeated on the same Mac.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing support@tryflowr.com. Deleting license records deactivates the license.

Children

Flowr isn’t directed at children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
